FDR is at Casablanca in North Africa, with Churchill, on 22 January 1943.  This was FDR's first major wartime trip abroad--in part because no foreign site was safe in either ocean during 1942.  By 1943 North Africa was largely won, and Italy is next.  Roosevelt is 60 years of age (his birth year being 1882).

Later in the year, on 29 November 1943, FDR met with Churchill and Soviet leader Joseph Stalin in Teheran, Iran.  The war had turned against Hitler in the Soviet Union after the decisive Battle of Stalingrad and the Italian campaign.  And plans were down for Allied invasion of France (to eventuate with D-Day on 6 June 1944).  This Big Three met twice in this manner during the war.
